La Coste
This project unfolds at the meeting point of architecture, topography, and landscape. The house does not sit on the territory but with it, embracing the slope that defines the site. The terrain becomes an active material, shaping both the architecture and the way it is experienced: the pool extends the horizon, anchoring the domestic space to the distant hills, while the retaining walls register the earth’s gravity in stone and concrete.
Materiality is deliberately raw and grounded. The stone wall recalls centuries of rural construction, carrying the memory of dry-stone borders that once organized the fields. Concrete, in turn, anchors the new interventions in the present—direct, structural, and uncompromising. Together, they weave a dialogue between permanence and transformation, between inherited ground and constructed form.
The architecture frames the landscape while allowing it to flow through: water, vegetation, and air are all part of the composition.
To inhabit this place is not only to live inside a house but to occupy a fragment of territory—where the domestic and the natural meet at the threshold of material, slope, and sky.
